  PPP striving to shun differences among coalition parties: Marri

KARACHI: Sindh Inforation Minister Shazia Marri said on Saturday that Pakistan People’s Party leadership is making efforts to bring an end to differences between its coalition partners in Sindh province - the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Awami National Party - who have assured to develop harmony among people and maintain peace in Karachi.
Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club (KPC), the minister said coalition partners of provincial government during current assembly session had contended to sit together to improve peace situation in city.
‘’Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had also vowed to continue reconciliation process. As a part of this commitment, the government is contacting with its allied parties,’’ she maintained.
Marri stated that Karachi is the heart of Sindh and that the entry of people coming to this city from other parts of province could not be barred. Rather, the government is striving to abolish the restrictions put in the past, she added.
Shazia said a vigile, however, would be kept on those coming from outside to maintain peace in city. Separately, addressing a reception hosted in her honour by the Pakistan Association of Press Photographers, the information minister praised photojournalism profession. Ms Marri held out assurance that the present goverment would play its due role towards development and promotion of photojournalism in the country.
