  State Minister visits Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto graveyard

LARKANA: The State Minister for Religious Affairs, Ms. Shagufta Jumani visited the shrines of Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. The State Minister laid floral wreaths and offered Fateha.
On the accession, she said that the country has good relations with Saudi Arabia and other countries. She further said that she wants to strengthen relations with various countries in order to enlarge the honour of the country. She said that whenever PPP Government has come, the expectations of the masses have been emerged. She said that Hajj Policy is under consideration, while plane fare’s issue is out of her department and policy of providing convenience to the Hajjis will be prepared soon.
She further said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the welfare of public and now her husband Asif Ali Zardari has followed her path to serve the masses. On the occasion Ms. Pireh Sakinah Gaad Azhar Khuhro, DCO Larkana Muhammad Jaffar Abbasi and others were also presented.
APCA protests for acceptance of demands
On the call APCA Family Planning Sindh, employees of Population Welfare Department Larkana chapter held a protest demonstration and took out a rally, which started from population office and marched through various roads of the city and culminated outside the press club. The rally was taken out against government and for acceptance of their demands. On the occasion, President APCA family planning Sindh, Muhammad Peeral Dayo while addressing to the protestors said that conspiracies are allegedly being hatched to paralyze their department by the secretary population and officials. He said that appointments, which were made in government departments, have been made purely on political basis, while merit has been ignored. He further said that the heirs of retired and deceased employees were neglected only favourites of politicians were given jobs.
Peeral Dayo alleged on deputed and officers have made hostage to their employees and department, they have also broken the records of corruption, he added. He demanded removal of deputed officers, regularization of all contract based employees, who have been working since 1998 and provision of B.F facilities, release of withheld salaries. Otherwise APCA will extend protest level throughout Sindh.
Team of ADB holds meeting with Taluka Nazim
Consultant of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Kevin Taylor held a meeting here at TMA Office on Friday with Taluka Nazim Larkana and concerned officers of various departments prior to sanctioning funds for constructing parallel sewerage system in the city. Taluka Nazim Yasir Junejo said the ADB had agreed to extend financial assistance to the five municipalities of Upper Sindh—- Larkana, Shikarpur, Rohri, Sukkur and Old Sukkur for constructing a sewerage system on modern lines. The Consultant along with the engineers of concerned departments visited the on-going mega drainage project of Larkana. ADB team assessed the possibility of constructing a parallel sewerage system in the city in the wake of its swelled up population, he said. The 40- year-= old drainage system of Larkana town has almost outlived. The consultant would also visit other municipalities and study the pros and cons of the future drainage projects.
