KARACHI: Sindh Population Welfare Department
Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has called for close cooperation
in between Population Welfare Department and Health Department
in order for better promotion of family welfare programmes.
This he observed during his meeting with Federal Secretary
of Population Welfare Mr. Nayyar Agha who met him at his office,
here today. Jam Mehtab stated that since Lady Health Workers
(LHWs) were initially recruited in population Welfare Department
through Lady Health Visitor Programme initiated by late Shaheed
Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto but later this programme transferred
to health RTDepartment as such now efforts should be undertaken
to ensure that Population Welfare Control Programme should
reach every nook and corner of the province through them.
The two also discussed programme with regard to creating awareness
amongst masses on the benefit of small family through media,
besides initiating programme of awareness in economical institutions.
The Provincial Secretary Population Welfare Mr. Siddique Memon
was also present on the occasion.—RT |
