GHOTKI: A speeding truck hit a man namely, Ghulam Nabi Kori
at Mureed Shakh while crossing the road and as a result
he died on the spot. The truck driver managed to flee from
the scene safely. The dead body of deceased was handed over
to his heirs after conducting autopsy from Civil Hospital
Obauro. The NC of the incident was lodged.
Removal of
occupation demanded
A farmer namely, Raza Muhammad Mahar, a resident of Mirzapur
near Daharki recorded a protest demonstration on Friday
outside the Press Club Ghotki for the removal of occupation.
While talking to newsmen, he said that few armed men of
influential men of Mahar community including, Mitha Khan
Mahar and Juman Khan Mahar have occupied his agricultural
lands in village Sadiq Mahar. He added that they are issuing
him dire threats to not raise voice in the matter. On the
occasion, he demanded of the authorities to take immediate
measures in the matter and to provide him protection, otherwise
he threatened to extend his protest circle.
Stray bullet
kills man
A stray bullet shot up and hit a man namely, Muhammad Yousuf
Bhutto while cleaning a gun, leaving him dead on the spot
on Friday at his home in village Malook near Ghotki.
The dead body of the deceased was handed over to his heirs
after conducting autopsy from a local hospital. Later on,
the dead body of deceased was laid to rest at his ancestral
graveyard after performing funeral prayers which were attended
by many people belonging to different walks of life.
Growers demand sufficient supply of irrigation water
A protest demonstration was staged by the growers of Ghotki
against the irrigation water shortage in Reti Mines, Faqir
Mines and Sehar Canal on Friday outside the local press
club.
Addressing on the occasion, the leaders including, Shoukat
Ali Shar, Sarwar Shar, Wazir Khan Pittafi and others said
that the irrigation water shortage has intensified in above
mentioned branches, whereas the influential people have
illegally installed pipes. Due to such conditions the tail-end
growers are facing acute shortage of irrigation water, whereas
authorities have not taken any action in the matter. On
the occasion, they demanded of the authorities to provide
them sufficient irrigation water, otherwise they threatened
to gear-up their protest movement.
Daharki witnesses prolonged power outages
During a survey conducted by The Regional Times it was learnt
that Daharki city and its adjoining areas witnessed 16 to
17 hours unannounced load shedding on Friday. Due to such
conditions the civic life was totally disrupted. While talking
to RT, the residents said that they have complained many
times to the high-ups regarding the matter but allegedly
no one has taken any notice of the matter. On the occasion,
they demanded of the concerned authorities to take immediate
measures in the matter to facilitate them.
