SUKKUR: The citizens of Sukkur staged different protest
demonstrations against the acute drinking water shortage
and prolonged power outage on Friday. According to the details,
the citizens of Sukkur belonging to different localities
including, Old Sukkur, New Pind, Racecourse Road, Bhutta
Road, Memon Mohalla, Micro Colony, New Village, Garam Godi,
Regent Cinema, Bhosa Line and other localities held protest
demonstrations against the acute drinking water shortage
and prolonged power outage. Addressing on the occasion,
the protesting persons said that they are facing a lot of
difficulties in their routine lives due to acute drinking
water shortage and prolonged power outage. On the occasion,
they demanded of the concerned authorities to take the immediate
notice of the matter, otherwise, they threatened to enlarge
their protest level.
Pilgrims of Hajj protest against changing of flight schedules
The pilgrims of Hajj held a protest demonstration against
the changing of flight schedules at the Sukkur Airport on
Friday. Addressing on the protesting pilgrims including,
Muhammad Hafeez, Shakoor Ahmed Memon and others said that
due to changing schedules of flights at the night time many
pilgrims were looted by the armed robbers and looting activities
became order of the day. On the occasion, they demanded
of the concerned authorities for the immediate changing
of the flight schedule at the day time, otherwise, they
threatened to enlarge their protest level.
Married couple files petition for protection
A married couple filed a petition in Sindh High Court Sukkur
Bench for protection on Friday. In her petition, she mentioned
that she contracted marriage with Asif Ali Chana. After
that her father declared her and her husband Karo-Kari in
a Jirga. She said that they have life threat. On the occasion,
they demanded protection. Meanwhile, the hearing was adjourned
till 20th of October.
