ISLAMABAD: Leader of Upper House, Mian Raza
Rabbani has disclosed that former Prime Minister, Shaukat
Aziz has transferred amount of more than US $ 4 billion abroad.
While responding to the point of order in the senate by various
lawmakers, Mian Raza Rabbani said that PPP was always against
taking loan from IMF. But, it is due to the poor policies
of former government that we are compelled to take loan from
IMF. It is need of hour to take some preemptive measures to
rescue the drowning economy of Pakistan, he said.
Mian Raza Rabbani further accused that former President Pervez
Musharraf and former Prime Minister, Shaukat Aziz had committed
serious economic crime and fraud, which are being exposed
to the masses gradually.
Both had issued SROs and transferred amount of US $ 4 billion
abroad keeping State Bank of Pakistan and Ministry of Finance
even Cabinet in darkness about all these decisions.
Similarly, he also rejected the allegations on government
that it was working against the provincial autonomy and privatization
of Qadirpur Gas Filed. He said that Joint Interests Council
had already approved to sell off Qadirpur Gas Filed plant
in 2006.
Mian Raza Rabbani said that the decision to increase interest
rate announced by Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Dr. Shamshad
Akhtar was made in haste. She must wait till the debate in
Upper House was over, he added.—Agencies |
