  Raza Rabbani accuses Shaukat Aziz of transferring $ 4b abroad
—Terms SBP’s decision to increase interest rate wrong
  ISLAMABAD: Leader of Upper House, Mian Raza Rabbani has disclosed that former Prime Minister, Shaukat Aziz has transferred amount of more than US $ 4 billion abroad.
While responding to the point of order in the senate by various lawmakers, Mian Raza Rabbani said that PPP was always against taking loan from IMF. But, it is due to the poor policies of former government that we are compelled to take loan from IMF. It is need of hour to take some preemptive measures to rescue the drowning economy of Pakistan, he said.
Mian Raza Rabbani further accused that former President Pervez Musharraf and former Prime Minister, Shaukat Aziz had committed serious economic crime and fraud, which are being exposed to the masses gradually.
Both had issued SROs and transferred amount of US $ 4 billion abroad keeping State Bank of Pakistan and Ministry of Finance even Cabinet in darkness about all these decisions.
Similarly, he also rejected the allegations on government that it was working against the provincial autonomy and privatization of Qadirpur Gas Filed. He said that Joint Interests Council had already approved to sell off Qadirpur Gas Filed plant in 2006.
Mian Raza Rabbani said that the decision to increase interest rate announced by Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar was made in haste. She must wait till the debate in Upper House was over, he added.—Agencies
