SUKKUR: The District Government has issued Rs one million
to Archeology Department of Shah Abdul Latif University
for the digging of Lakheen Jo Daro. In this regard, a team
of Archeology Department comprising of six men including,
Chairman of Archeology Department SALU, Ghulam Mustafa Shar,
Director Archeologist Anthropology, Dr. Qasim Hussain Mallah,
Professor Ghulam Muhiuddin Wesar, Madame Tasleem and others
was established to continue digging work at Lakheen Jo Daro,
which will be completed in 90 days.
In first phase forty days will be spent on the digging of
the one mound, whereas Lakheen Jo Daro is divided in four
mounds.
While talking to RT, the Chairman of Archeology Department
SALU, Ghulam Mustafa Shar said that the Lakheen Jo Daro
is about 5000 years old and before this time the digging
work was started at the mound two years ago through which
many antiques were found by the authorities which are kept
at the Museum of Archeology Department SALU.
Session of Taluka Council Sukkur held
A session of taluka Council Sukkur was heldn under the chair
of its Convener, Rizwan Ahmed Siddiqui on Monday. The employees
of TMA entered in the Taluka Council Hall forcibly and recorded
a protest demonstration against non issuance of their salaries
despite passage of twelve days.
While talking to the Convener, the protestors said that
their salaries have ben issued but due to negligence of
the TMO those have been given to them. The Taluka Nazim
assured the protestors to issue their salaries with in 24
hours. Later on, the Convener postponed the session.
Operation to be
launched against multi
storied buildings
After the collapsing of Sadia Plaza the authorities had
announced to stop the construction work of the multi storied
buildings but despite of that the construction work at those
buildings was continuing on Monday.
While talking to newsmen, the DPO Sukkur, Sharjeel Karim
Kharal said that on the orders of the District Government
an operation will be launched against the contractors very
soon.
Prisoner of Sukkur Central Jail-1 records protest
A protest demonstration was recorded by a prisoner of Sukkur
Central Jail One on Monday against the jail authorities
for not presenting him before the court for hearing of his
case.
While talking to newsmen, the protesting man said that he
was arrested in an alleged fake case of keeping illegal
weapons, whereas from last five years his case has not run
because the authorities never presented him before the court.
While talking to newsmen, the DIG Jails Sukkur, Allauddin
Abbasi said that the case of arrested man was running in
the court of Punjab and he has written to the police of
concerned district to present him before the court.
