  Durrani says encroachments on government land will not be allowed
——165 acres of government land vacated from encroachers

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Khan Durrani has said that no one would be allowed to encroach or occupy Government land illegally as it was meant for the masses.
This he said during his visit to review and monitor the on-going anti –encroachment campaign of Malir Development Authority (MDA) here today. Director General M.D.A. Mr. Amirzada Kohati was also present on the occasion.
Provincial Minister said that there are many complaints that members of land mafia are encroaching Government Land in the name of fake Goths, which is not only creating unrest amongst locals but also depriving the Government of valuable revenue. He directed the MDA to continue its anti-encroachment drive and take action against the encroachers no matter how influential they are.
This action should be transparent and without any discrimination, he further directed. He appreciated the recovery of 165 acre of MDA land from the encroachers, which is worth Rs. 3.5 billion in the market. He also issued directives for expediting the project of erecting boundary walls around notified goths so as to protect them from encroachers and also provide them with all basic amenities.
He said that present democratic government has a pledge to resolve all problems confronting masses and all necessary steps are being taken in this regard. All notified katchi Abadies and goths would be provided with ownership rights while encroachments would be removed at all costs, he further added.
Mr. Durrani directed MDA to execute its development projects in consultation with the locals so as to make them more effective and long lasting. D.G. M.D.A. Mr. Amirzada Kohati informed the Minister about the anti-encroachment drive in detail.
