KHAIRPUR: During a survey conducted by The Regional Times,
it was learnt that the Hepatitis has intensified in Kahirpur
and its adjoining areas. In this regard it was learnt that
with in last two weeks 18 people including, Mst. Bachul,
Mst. Arbab Khatoon, Janan Mallah, Zamir Hussain Mallah,
Farhat Ali, Ghulam Shabir, Imam Dino, Khuda Bux, Nabban,
Sorihya and others have lost their lives due to Hepatitis,
whereas Ali Gul Shambani, Mst. Naz Khatoon, Waheed Ali,
Shaman, Amb Faqir, Arbab, Mahar Ali Kalhoro, Nimano Khan,
Mushtaq Ahmed, Mst. Leelan and several others are suffering
from critical conditions because of being affected by Hepatitis
in Sobhodero, Naro, village, Hussain Samtio and Sagiyon.
While talking to RT, the affected persons alleged that not
any step has been taken by the concerned authorities to
save their lives from deadly disease.
On the occasion, they demanded of the Chief Minister of
Sindh and officials of Heath Department to send teams to
their areas as they can breathe sigh of relief.
Nargis ND Khan to start
training program for women
The Provincial Minister for Social Welfare, Nargis ND Khan
while addressing a meeting of officials of different NGOs
and PPP Ladies Wing on Friday at Circuit House Khairpur
said that the women of Sindh Province will be trained through
different training programs as they can earn their livelihood.
She added that 7000 NGOs are working in Sindh and in this
regard all the officials of NGOs were directed by the Minister
to submit their annual reports to Social Welfare Department.
The Minister said that the registration of inactive NGOs
will be cancelled, whereas the registration of other NGOs
will be renewed according to their performance. A committee
was formed by the Minister under the leadership of PPP Ladies
Wing leader, Ghazala Siyal to monitor the works being done
by the NGOs.
On the occasion, Secretary Social Welfare Department, Khawar
Jamil and others officials were also present.
Demo recorded against
Baitul Mal authorities
A protest rally was takn out by the poor people of Khairpur
against the negligence of Baitul Mal authorities on Friday.
The rally started from Baitul Mal Office which marching
through various culminated outside the local press club
under the leadership of Ghulam Rasool Shaikh, Karim Dino
Sehto and others.
Addressing on the occasion, the leaders alleged that the
officials of Baitul Mal Khairpur are issuing funds to their
favorite people, whereas the deserving people have been
deprived of those funds.
On the occasion, they demanded of the Chief Minister of
Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take action into the matter,
otherwise they threatened to accelerate their protest level.
SALU’s general body meets
A general body meeting of Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur
Employees Association was held at the Alama I.I Kazi Hall
on Friday, which was attended by a large number of members
including, Raza Muhammad Durani, Nusrat Chana, Muhammad
Bux Rajpar, Qurban Soomro, Feroze Phulpoto and the office-bearers
of Mehran University, Sindh University, LUMHS and other
universities.
Addressing on the occasion, the leaders said that the universities
are facing financial crisis due to reduction of the universities’
budget to 72 percent. On the occasion, they demanded of
the concerned authorities for immediate issuance of the
budgets of the universities and reinstatement of sacked
employees of different universities.
ABPWWA takes out protest rally
The activists of Al Shahbaz Building Paint Workers Welfare
Association chapter Khairpur took out a protest rally against
the former President of the association, Syed Ahmed Ali
Shah alias Godan Shah on Friday.
The protest rally started from Phoul Bagh Khairpur under
the leadership of Gul Muhammad Solangi and marched through
the various roads of the city and culminated outside the
Khairpur Press Club. Addressing on the occasion, the protesting
leaders alleged that Syed Ahmed Ali Shah allegedly wanted
to conduct selection in despite holding elections. On the
occasion, they demanded of the concerned authorities for
immediate holding of elections.
