HYDERABAD: Chairman of Sindh United Party (SUP) Syed Jalal
Mehmood Shah has said that division of provinces would be
result in denial of provincial autonomy. SUP will resist
division of provinces. This was stated by him while addressing
a press conference at his office on Friday. Syed Jalal Mehmood
Shah said that despite court’s orders, the police
have not lodged the murder case of SUP activist, Syed Akhtar
Shah. He said that they will continue their struggles for
arrest of the accused killers of Syed Akhtar Shah. He demanded
of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice, Iftikhar
Muhammad Chaudhry to take suo-moto notice of the murder
of SUP activist, Syed Akhtar Shah. He said that SUP will
support the protest demonstration of JSQM on 15th July,
2009.
Court grants bail
to arrested PPP
activists
Investigation Police of Maki Shah presented two arrested
activists of PPP, Rizwan Siyal and Ramzan Baloch before
court of the Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate on Friday.
The court granted 3-day remand of the arrested activists
of PPP to Investigation Police of Maki Shah. Meanwhile,
the District and Sessions Judge Hyderabad granted bail to
the arrested activists of PPP on a surety of Rs 50,000 each.
JSSF protests against appointments in BISE Hyderabad
The activists of Jeay Sindh Students Federation (JSSF) under
the leadership of Sorihya Sindhi recorded a protest demonstration
against appointments on alleged political basis in the Board
of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Hyderabad
outside the local press club on Friday. Talking to media
men, the protesting leaders said that near and dear ones
of urban areas have been appointed in BISE Hyderabad by
violating merit. On the occasion, they demanded of the concerned
authorities to take immediate notice of the matter.
Tail-end growers of Sultani Mines demand irrigation water
The tail-end growers of Sultani Mines recorded a protest
demonstration against acute shortage of irrigation water
outside the local press club on Friday. Addressing on the
occasion, the protesting leaders said that their agriculture
lands have become barren due to acute shortage of irrigation
water and as a result, they are facing financial loss. On
the occasion, they demanded of the concerned authorities
to take immediate notice of the matter. Meanwhile, Sindh
Senior Minister, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq after taking immediate
notice of the matter ordered the Irrigation official to
solve the problems of growers. After being directed by the
senior minister, an Irrigation official Mujeeb Abbasi inspected
Sultani Wah and assured them for immediate supply of irrigation
water.
Residents of village Jam Khan Laghari protest
The residents of village Jam Khan Laghari recorded a protest
demonstration against non-provision of the forms of Benazir
Income Support Program outside the Press club Hyderabad
on Friday. Addressing on the occasion, the leaders said
that the concerned authorities have distributed the forms
of Benazir Income Support Program amongst their favorite
persons, while the deserving and deprived people have been
deprived of those forms. On the occasion, the protestors
demanded of the high-ups to take immediate measures in the
matter and provide them relief, otherwise they have threatened
to accelerate their protest level.
