KHAIRPUR: A large number of people of Syed community recorded
a protest demonstration at Khaki Shah Bridge for arrest
of accused robbers on Friday. Due to the protest of Syed
Community, the traffic was suspended for a few hours.
Later on, a heavy contingent of police and Rangers reached
the spot and resorted to baton charge on the protestors
and arrested two protesting persons.
Earlier, addressing the protestors, the leaders including
Syed Manzoor Shah, Bagan Shah, Abdul Razaq Shaikh, Nazal
Shah and others said that despite passage of many days the
police have not arrested accused robbers, who looted the
house of Bagan Shah.
They alleged that robberies are on the rise in the area
and police have failed to maintain law and order situation
in the district. They demanded of the concerned authorities
for immediate arrest of the accused robbers.
Meanwhile, protesting persons held a protest demonstration
outside the residence of PPP MNA, Manzoor Wassan.
Later on, they dispersed peacefully after the assurance
of immediate arrest of robbers by MNA Manzoor Wassan.
JSQM demands
arrest of Mumtaz Bhutto’s killers
The activists of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) chapter Khairpur
under the leadership of District President of JSQM, Fayaz
Khamisani, Hakim Rind, Tarique, Saleem Sindhi and others
observed a token hunger strike for the arrest of killers
of JSQM activist, Mumtaz Bhutto outside the Sessions Court
on Friday. Talking to media men, the protesting leaders
demanded immediate arrest of the killers of Mumtaz Bhutto
and immediate return of IDPs to their concerned areas.
