BADIN: Speaker National Assembly, Dr Fehmida Mirza has said
that a 27-member committee, headed by Senator Raza Rabbani
has sought suggestion also from the masses for amendment
in the Constitution. The committee has been formed to review
17th Amendment of the Constitution and Charter of Democracy
would complete the assigned task soon, Dr Fehmida Mirza
said this while talking to newsmen after performing groundbreaking
of Sui Gas projects and inaugurating a newly constructed
Road in Nindo City and Khoski town on Friday. She said that
the committee was formed with consensus of all political
parties, which has representation in the Parliament and
the members from all provinces of the country have been
included in the committee. The members from Pakistan Muslim
League (N) are also extending their full cooperation, the
Speaker said, adding that MNA Choudhry Nisar Ahmed has excused
being a member of the committee as he left abroad for one
month leave. Meanwhile, addressing the participants of the
ceremony, Dr Fehmida Mirza said that the government is fully
committed to accomplish the vision of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto
Shaheed and soon the people would witness an era of development
with availability of all required facilities at their nearest.
She assured that the government has initiated different
projects of provision of electricity and gas facilities
with construction of roads in every nook and corner of the
country. With completion of all development projects, the
socio economic condition of the people will be improved
with availability of the opportunity of employment both
in public and private sectors, she said. Dr Fehmida Mirza
vowed to eliminate the corruption from the society and maintenance
of law and order so that the people could take a sigh of
relief. The results of the efforts being made for the betterment
of the masses will be started soon, she said. The Speaker
also performed groundbreaking ceremonies of provision of
gas in Nindo City and Khoski town. The projects will be
completed within six months time at a cost of Rs. 119 million.
She also inaugurated Haji Ahmed Khaskheli Village-Abdul
Karim Bhurgari Village Road, which has been completed with
a cost of Rs. 17 million. Among others, Sindh Home Minister
Dr Zulfiqar Mirza was also present on the occasion.
Sheedi community protests for arrest
of culprits
A protest demonstration was recorded by Sheedi community
men for arrest of the culprits involved in attacking their
notables on Friday. Addressing on the occasion, the leaders
said that few men have on the behest of influential men
attacked notables of their community, which resulted in
severe injuries to them, while the concerned authorities
despite their several complaints have not taken any step
in the matter.
On the occasion, the protestors demanded of the high-ups
to take immediate measures in the matter, otherwise they
have threatened to enlarge their protest level.
