ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Registrar Dr Fakir
Hussain has said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief
Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry did not discuss the issue
of National Reconciliation Ordinance in their meeting here
on Friday.
He said that the Supreme Judicial Council was fully functional
and the Islamabad High Court was not the member of Judicial
Policy Making Committee: therefore, its chief justice was
not invited to the judicial conference. Addressing a press
conference, Fakir Hussain said that about 330122 cases out
of 1980127 pending cases in Supreme Court and other subordinate
courts have been disposed off within one month of the implementation
of judicial policy. According to him, the Supreme Court,
Federal Shariat Court, four high courts and other subordinate
courts have been performed well in disposing off cases from
June 1-30, as according to record. He said that there were
18392 cases with Supreme Court by May and 1920 cases were
registered in June and the court disposed off 2932 cases
in one month, decreasing the number of pending cases to
