Qazi demands cases against Pervez Musharraf
Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmed Saturday demanded to prosecute former President Pervez Musharraf for suspending Constitution, massacre of innocent Muslims at Lal Mosque, Balochistan, and FATA and alleged embezzlement of official funds.
In a statement, he said JI would mark 3rd November as “Condemnation Day”. He said financial crisis could be resolved if $30billion of our wealthiest Pakistanis deposited in foreign banks be brought back in the country.
He said JI and Al-Khidmat are fully contributing in efforts for assistance and rehabilitation of Balochistan earthquake survivors. Syed Abul Ala Maudodi ran a campaign for Islamic Constitution for Pakistan. Resolution of Objectives was result of this campaign, but could not be implemented so far.
Military operations in FATA, Swat and Balochistan may damage the sovereignty of the country, he feared. Present government has also continued policies of former President Pevez Musharraf, he regretted.—Agencies
